Have been thinking to write abt this from a long time but never did. I am certainly not a movie buff but i do watch lot of hindi movies

and some of the scenes, dialogs have left lasting impression on me. Let's see how many i will remember rightnow.....
Let's start from the recent one that has clicked to me. I keep seeing old Devdas movie's ad on Z tv. Devdas says " wo shaadi ke raste chali gayi or mai barbadi ke". This i have seen in real life too....i would say both on barbadi ke raste..one with marriage and another without (of course for a while and then give in. )
Watched Gandhi My Father few weeks back. Harilal becomes Iqbal at some point and Kasturba is very upset hearing this. Gandhi tells her something like this...don't remember exact word "hari and iqbal is same...one god's 2 names. If he finds god in iqbal then we should be happy for him."

How many fathers can say this?
Next one is from AB Junior's early movie with Ash. Mom is pressering son Abhi for marriage and in defence Abhi says you know singles live longer. "It's not that singles live longer but singles find their life way too long." Mom replies. Being single i think mom is right...sometimes too much time for myself and sulekha.
Another one from AB's movie only...Heroin in the movie is all after handsome rich hunk but our village boy truely loves her and now she is confused. Farida Jalal mom says to her daughter "shaadi to usse karani chahiye jo tumse pyar karta ho nahi ki jise tum pyar karo" you will be happy with the person who loves you. I have taken this advice to my heart and wanna marry someone who loves me but then am not liking those majnoos.
Can't finish this without King Khan. In movie Chalte Chalte, Priya tells Raj that she is getting engaged and Raj asks how can she marry a stranger? To which Priya Rani replies he is not a stranger but my childhood friend. Raj says "aab tum muze bachanpan mai nahi mili to usme mera kya kasoor" (now if i didn't meet you in childhood then what's my fault in it? ) I find it very sweet.
Do share your fav scenes, dialoges.
